We need 30 Greeters to welcome our friends to Mass!

To joyfully and sincerely welcome each person coming to Mass and/or other services and events at St. Mary’s.
The St. Mary’s Greeter ministry is generally the first interaction newcomers or visitors to the parish
encounter. The number one reason newcomers come back to church is hospitality. Admittedly,
this gets played out in a number of ways over the course of a person’s weekend experience.
However, more often than not, the most impactful way is a gentle smile and friendly greeting at
the front door. That greeting makes all the difference when it comes to influencing the unchurched
or newcomer’s feelings and sense of belonging as they step into our church.

It is required that all adults who minister, or work for the Diocese of Fall River complete the “Essential Three” as outlined in the Diocesan Policy for the Protection of the Faithful. They are The Safe Environment Training, the Code of Conduct and complete a CORI.
FAITH LIFE
• Children’s Liturgy of the Word (C.L.O.W.) - Share the Gospel Message with children in Grades K-2 in an age-appropriate manner and environment, that will help them to grow in Faith as they Journey with Christ. [ More info ]
• C.L.O.W. - Children’s Liturgy of the Word
• Gather - Connect with families of children in grades 3-5 and support them on their faith journey.
• “J” Walkers - Play an active role in the spiritual life of our middle schoolers and help them grow in their faith.
• Pathfinders - Play a role in the spiritual life of students in grade 8-12.
• Confirmation Prep - Help our Confirmation candidates perepare to receive the Sacraments by sharing in their faith journey and formation.
• Small Group Hosts - Host 8-10 people in faith discussion to go deeper in the weekly homily and support one another in their relationship with Christ.
• Becoming Catholic Preparation - Help prepare those who are becoming Catholic.
• Baptism Preparation and Parenting Program - We welcome enthusiastic parishioners to serve as group leaders for the session with parents of children about to be baptized. [ More info ]

WEEKEND EXPERIENCE
• Greeters - Welcome and greet guest at our entrances and exits or guide guests to their seats in the church.
• Environment Team - Preparing our worship space for weekend and holy day Masses. (Ie: Flowers, banners).
• Lectors
• Altar Servers
• Music
• St. Mary’s Gardeners - help to beautify our campus

SERVE FROM HOME
• LIVE Host - Chat and connect with viewers of our online experience.
• Open Arms - Greet and serve new members during our virtual meetings.
• Connect Team - Welcome new members and connect with others in the parish with a friendly phone call or note. Reach out to new residents with a note.
• Online Small Group Leader - lead 8-10 people in faith discussion to go deeper in the weekly homily and support one another in their relationship with Christ through a virtual small group.

MEMBER CARE
• Homebound Ministers - Visit with the homebound and hospitalized as a pastoral visitor (as permitted).
• Prayer Guild - pray on your own for all submitted prayer requests.
St. Vincent de Paul Society - Serving those in need in our parish and area.
• Bereavement Ministry - Walk with families who have experienced a loss as they prepare the funeral rites for their loved one. Also follow up with families post-funeral.
• Office Support - Help with administrative tasks in the office
