PASTORAL VISITORS
Our Pastoral Visitors are available to visit homebound parishioners, as well as those who have transitioned to assisted living or hospice care in the Parish. Pastoral Visitors bring comfort and encouragement, Christian fellowship and prayerful support. They will also bring Holy Communion for those who wish. Contact the Parish Office if you would like a visit. CURRENTLY THE DIOCESE HAS LIMITED OUR PASTORAL VISITS TO ONLY PARISH CLERGY. ONCE THE COVID RESTRICTIONS HAVE BEEN LIFTED MORE FREQUENT VISITS WILL BE POSSIBLE.
PRAYER REQUESTS
The St. Mary’s Prayer Guild are committed to praying for the needs of our parish and our parishioners. If you would like to submit a prayer request, please send an email to prayer@stmarysdartmouth.org or call the Parish Office.
HOSPITALIZATION
Hospitals in the Diocese have Chaplains assigned; they provide pastoral visits and opportunities for Holy Communion. Requests for Anointing of the Sick and Pastoral Care during a hospitalization should be done through the Chaplain’s Office.
FUNERALS
The death of a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences of life. The prayerful support and assistance of the Parish Family of Faith can be indispensable. We will walk with you during the funeral planning process, the Funeral Rites and afterwards. The Funeral Home Director should be your first contact. After the funeral has been scheduled through the funeral home, the Parish will contact you and invite you to pick up a funeral planning packet to plan the Funeral Rites.
ANNOINTING OF THE SICK
The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is offered anytime someone needs special support and strength when facing a health challenge due to illness, hospitalization, surgery or old age. The Sacrament strengthens faith and hope in a time of anxiety and uncertainty. The Anointing of the Sick is not ‘Last Rites’ and should not be delayed. To schedule a time for the Anointing of the Sick, please call the Parish Office at 508-992-7505.
SMALL GROUPS
At St. Mary’s, we feel that a small group is the best pastoral care delivery system. Groups meet weekly with small breaks and a break for the summer. Check out our small groups page on the website to learn more and find a group that’s right for you.
