“A Welcoming Catholic Community promoting our faith, sharing our gifts, and serving all, in the name of Jesus Christ.”

Welcome to Saint Mary Parish! As the pastor, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our parish website. The parish of Saint Mary’s is a vibrant community of faith that seeks to know Jesus by bearing witness to his presence in the world and participating in the Mission to spread the Gospel, the Good News. That is our baptismal call and sharing it should bring us immense hope and joy.

There are many “ministries” and ways that our parishioners can give and receive. It is my sincere hope that as you get to know the community, you will be moved by the Spirit to find a way to “fit in” and make yourself at home. If you are new to Saint Mary’s and would like to register as a new parishioner, please click “registration” to fill out the form or to print a registration form that you can mail in, we will respond in writing. You can also pick up a registration form at the main entrance of the church should you wish to register in that fashion.

If there is any way that I might assist you or if you have any questions or concerns, I would encourage you to seek me out or any member of the parish staff. I am only a phone call or an “email” away and serving the needs of this portion of God’s Vineyard brings me great joy.

We Remember….

Prayer of Pope Benedict XVI when he visited Ground Zero in New York in 2008:

O God of love, compassion, and healing,
look on us, people of many different faiths and traditions,
who gather today at this site,
the scene of incredible violence and pain….

God of understanding,
overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy,
we seek your light and guidance
as we confront such terrible events.
Grant that those whose lives were spared
may live so that the lives lost here
may not have been lost in vain.
Comfort and console us,
strengthen us in hope,
and give us the wisdom and courage
to work tirelessly for a world
where true peace and love reign
among nations and in the hearts of all.

2016 Personal Care Product Drive

Thanks you, the St. Mary’s Parish community, for your outstanding support of our Personal Care Products Drive to help the homeless and needy people in our area. With your very generous and thoughtful donations throughout the month of July, five very grateful New Bedford agencies each received large baskets and boxes filled to overflowing with muchneeded items that will fill their cupboards and be given out directly to their clients. Because of you overwhelming generosity, we were able to increase the number of agencies that received your donations and put smiles on so many faces. Thank you for taking time this summer to think about those people
less fortunate than ourselves.

2016 Catechetical Sunday – September 18th

Poster (bilingual).indd

This series focuses on the theme “Prayer: The Faith Prayed” Those whom the community has designated to serve as catechists will be called forth to be commissioned for their ministry. Catechetical Sunday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the role that each person plays, by virtue of Baptism, in handing on the faith and being a witness to the Gospel. Catechetical Sunday is an opportunity for all to rededicate themselves to this mission as a community of faith.
